Crete's Culinary Sanctuaries “School without Walls” award-winning for best practices in Responsible/Sustainable Travel. Formed in 1997 by Nikki Rose, a Greek-American Chef, Writer and Seminar Director, to help provide tangible support to residents implementing programs to protect their cultural-natural heritage. Teachers include organic farmers-producers, archaeologists, botanists, chefs and fishers, organizing academic and general study tours for over 3,000 students to date.
