Crete's Culinary Sanctuaries “School without Walls” award-winning for best practices in Responsible/Sustainable Travel. Formed in 1997 by Nikki Rose, a Greek-American Chef, Writer and Seminar Director, to help provide tangible support to residents implementing programs to protect their cultural-natural heritage. Teachers include organic farmers-producers, archaeologists, botanists, chefs and fishers, organizing academic and general study tours for over 3,000 students to date.
Organic Products Cluster is a Greek non-profit organization with a vertically integrated structure which supports all actors involved to the supply and marketing chain of the organic sector. The main objective of OPC is to constitute a development organization for mapping out strategies, promoting Greek organic products and supporting organic products. Furthermore, the continuous awareness-raising campaigns to the general public about organic products and their benefits is of high importance.
Northern Greece Organic Farmers Association (EABBE) organizes the farmers markets for organic products in Northern Greece. It has 100+ members from all over Greece. Its members are strictly farmers only. It works constantly for the promotion of the organic products and the organic movement as well as the improvement of the national legislation regarding the local and organic markets and products.
Tüv Austria Hellas, member of Tüv Austria Group established in Vienna in 1872, is accredited for the provision of inspection and certification services of organic products. The accreditation includes the whole certification framework in organic products for crop production, animal production, animal feeding and processing according to the European Regulation (EC) 834/2007 and (EC) 889/2008.
