Description | Africa Cooperative Action Trust (ACAT) Lilima is a Christian rural community development agency working to empower disadvantaged rural people especially women and children to improve their quality of life. ACAT was established in Swaziland in 1982, after its founding in KwaZulu Natal in the year 1979. ACAT’s approach to people development is based on the mobilisation of people to form savings groups that meet weekly. Savings are used for self-help purposes. ACAT uses participatory methods in their community development interventions. This is done to promote strong ownership by community beneficiaries. |
