National Institute of Business Management

NIBM, with its legacy over 53 years of service in the arena of higher education, has constantly been taking initiatives with the dynamics in the world of business. To stay current and to be with the new developments in the country, NIBM decided to set up a Center for Agribusiness and Technology (CAT) in its Kurunegala Campus in the recent past to cater to the needs of the agribusiness community in the region. CAT has introduced Diploma courses related to agriculture and found that there is a growth in the number of interested people, who are directly in the field of agriculture, to learn the best practices of agribusiness management.

Furthermore, NIBM has recognized that there is a grave need to produce competent agribusiness professionals in the field of organic agriculture to meet the current challenges faced by the industry due to the policy decision taken by the Government of Sri Lanka to promote organic agriculture in the country. NIBM has introduced an Advanced Certificate Course in Organic Agribusiness Management (ACOAM) and the major objective of the course is to enhance the skills of participants in organic agribusiness and to certify them as organic agribusiness practitioners in line with ISO/IEC 17024:2012.
