Centre for Indian Knowledge Systems (CIKS) is an NGO working with a community of small and marginal farmers in nine districts of Tamil Nadu for the last 20 years with a prime focus on organic agriculture and biodiversity conservation. In the recent years, the focus areas have been extended to building farmer producer organizations to enhance marketing efforts, value addition, micro enterprises etc., which improves the income of the farming community. Our activities can broadly be classified into research, extension work and promoting farmer producer organizations. The extension work comprises of training programmes and production of educational material.
