Description

West African Organic Network is a network committed to promoting agroecology and organic agriculture in West Africa. Our objective is to develop a unique ecological organic agriculture sector based on the principles of health, ecology, fairness, and care, ensuring food security, food sovereignty, and sustainable employment and incomes.

Our main activities include:

- Network Strengthening: Mapping and enrolling new members, organizing General Assemblies, and facilitating sub-regional events.
- Advocacy and Partnerships: Developing collaborations with technical and financial partners, and participating in key international events (BioFach, West African Forum on Agroecology, AGRA Forum, etc.).
- Support for Members: Monitoring funding opportunities, sharing best practices, and documenting successful agroecological initiatives.
- Communication and Awareness: Developing a communication strategy, revamping the website and social media, and publishing articles and reports on organic agriculture.
- Governance and Strategy: Establishing a dedicated secretariat, drafting a strategic orientation note, and creating a roadmap for organic agriculture and agroecology in West Africa.

We actively work to structure and strengthen the organic and agroecological sector in West Africa, collaborating with our members and partners to drive sustainable agricultural transformation.
