1 - Set of principles and attributesProgress towards the INNER certification of Bio-districts Landmarks can be documented -as contribution to deliverable 1 -with economic, socio-cultural and environmental performance indicators to be progressively developed with territorial stakeholders of Bio-districts within the monitoring and qualification system developed in collaboration with the University of Bologna.
2 - Drivers and indicators of sustainable production and consumptionContribution through application of the analysis of the Integrated Territorial methodology implemented by the Bio-districts with all territorial actors, from private, public and social private sectors: the one that through organic and agroecological food system practices enhances food systems governance, systemic and multi-functional approach in agriculture, facilitates Bio-district's participatory community.
3 - Actual data on sustainable production and consumptionTo improve territorial food security, deeper trust in consumers, simplified organic certification and quality schemes INNER is developing a qualitative measurement system on the behaviour of the multi-stakeholders relations within a Bio-district and on its environmental and social progress and sustainable impacts.
4 - Policy reform proposals/argumentsFollowing the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding with Italian Minister of Agriculture INNER advocates multi-level agro-food policy for Sustainability of Bio- districts; a specific framing legislation on bio-districts and organic farming at National and International level; International cooperation between local communities (adopting the Expo Charter World Cooperation System For Territorial Development).
5 - Training and education toolsINNER develops and manages European projects on innovation for new young farmers interested in agroecology and organic farming, developed as vocational training targeted on their needs, mainstreamed through school and higher degrees curricula. International Register of Technician of organic agriculture certifying necessary competences to develop Bio-districts. Good practices handbooks and institutions and trainers focused on ecological farming.
6 - Case studies of food systemsCase-studies through Bio-district's on their needs and innovative learning practices in organic farming and agroecology, territorially collected on: - quality of organic production for further research and innovation; - local governance in managing participative sustainable development of all local actors; - green economy and Bio-district's production; - short supply chains, conservation systems, commercial and eco-system and environmental services among production sectors.
7 - Workshops/roundtablesINNER shares on Local policies facilitating the Bio-districts' model and approach, besides communication on INNER principles and Bio-districts development and implementation, at stakeholders’ events, among government entities, food chain actors and other organizations, interested actors and international networks as the CittàSlow International movement, or Legambiente association, to define a common sustainable development strategy built on the links between urban-rural or towards 100% organic in Forests and Parks areas.
8 - Clusters/knowledge sharingThe enhancement of a system approach to organic production, strengthening multilevel governance policies, coordination and cooperation between bio-districts is underway. On‐going work is on Organic and Mediterranean diet sustainability; to achieve organic food practices within the National parks, to implement territorial governance in support of agroecology and organic agriculture by sharing with multi-stakeholders INNER partners and Research and universities networks and by using available documentation and resources regularly published on the INNER website and the partners' platforms.
