Deliverable Notes
- Set of principles and attributesWith a long-time experience in the food sector and participation in numerous European networks and initiatives, the latest being the EIT Food, FOODforce, EFFoST etc., and an excellent knowledge of all stages of the food chain, we can certainly contribute to this Deliverable with suggestions for central parameters that will make the integration process successful.
- Drivers and indicators of sustainable production and consumptionWith an integrated knowledge base at the University of Hohenheim, covering all aspects of the food chain including nutrition, healthy diets, and consumer perception, the Hohenheim Research Center for Bioeconomy will be able to give valuable input for new project consortia as well as to the OFSP steering committee.
- Policy reform proposals/argumentsWith a long-time experience in European food projects and contributions on policy recommendations and policy briefs for European policy makers -most recently the finalized FP7 Project INPROFOOD about sustainable programming for future food research-the Hohenheim Research Center for Bioeconomy can be an excellent partner for both consortia and the steering committee.
- Training and education toolsSpecialized in dissemination, education and public information, the Hohenheim Research Center for Bioeconomy and its multi-disciplinary staff already is very active in promoting all aspects of the food sector, including an integrated food chain. Long-time experience in all elements of dissemination and communication, including social media, will make us a great partner in this Deliverable. Our proven track record includesEU projects like TRAFOON, FOOD-STA, and I-CON.
- Case studies of food systemsComprehensive knowledge is combined with practical hands-on experience at the Hohenheim Research Center for Bioeconomy. Especially the topic of knowledge transfer and the introduction of new methods, processes, and practices in the food industry is a most important topic for us where we also can prove a long-time experience with hundreds of industry workshops implemented. The University of Hohenheim is striving worldwide –andunder different (mostly adverse) conditions –to introduce functioning food systems to combat hunger and malnutrition.
- Workshops/roundtablesThe Hohenheim Research Center for Bioeconomy is highly experienced in organizing expert rounds consisting of key stakeholders, including NGOs, with the aim of findingconsensus and building scenarios that ultimately lead to informed and viable policy decisions. Notably, the FP7 project INPROFOOD provided insight into different methods and their value for future actions in the food sector.
